    Default Yellow backed Duiker (C)

    Hi and hello ,
i have taken this Duiker image at my working place during coffee brake one day , even with the option going there almost every day , no guarantee to see them ………..good chances for them to play hide and seek with me.

    Canon EOS 1Dx
    EF 300 IS L F4,0
    HH

    F 4,5 ; Iso 1600 ; 1/500 sec ; should have gone higher with the f-stop for a tad more DOF .

    Cropped for comp

Processed with Photo Ninja and PS CC ; i quite like the green grass as stark contrast to the dark subject.

    C&C welcome

    Cheers Andreas

Andreas, this looks like a bronze statue to me - very well processed and whatever you have done with your Photo Ninja, I really like the outcome!
Hide-and-seek during a coffee break sounds good, all I see during my 3-minute coffee time is lizards and butterflies or the occasional pied-wagtail (bird)...
I like this very very much, well done, I have nothing to crit, just compliments!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Andreas - I too like the green bg, vibrant but not over-saturated. The duiker looks relaxed and you've got good detail. I might open up the midtones slightly. I'm also seeing a bit of cyan/blue around the mouth. What a nice way to spend a coffee break.

    Rachel

First time I've seen a photo of this species of Duiker. Lovely detail and sharpness, does look like a statue with the colour haha.
Rachel has a good point on the midtones.

THanks folks for your thoughts and comments.
I will leave the mid tones as they are, just went back today and had a look , they are fairly dark………..

Hi Andreas, looks almost statuesque in it's appearance

I wonder about tweaking the green in HSL, may add some depth/tone, but still retaining the vibrancy, WDYT? Will leave it with the others for more detailed feedback.
