Default " SHAKE YOUR TAIL FEATHERS" - THEME

The gathering of male greater sage grouse on booming grounds or leks is a certain sign of spring in SE Idaho. I had two delightful mornings shooting from a blind on a lek. In keeping with out of the box, I'm posting an unconventional sage grouse image. PP included Fractalius and a 2 Lil Owls texture. Try turning the image upside down.

This has some wonderful contrasts in focus and texture. The colors and shapes are great, and the whites against the darker colors make a real impact. Very nicely done.

I flipped it vertically as you suggested and had to chuckle. Good job seeing that from right-side-up.

A rump never looked so good. Love the colour palette and textures. I wish the one leg wasn't so close to the bottom of the frame.

Hi Gary, this is a very interesting image and I like your treatments. I'm always looking for graphic designs in nature and you found a really nice one here! The texture looks great. Good one!

I like the textures and graphic pattern you've captured with this one-the symmetry is excellent. I also like the warm tones, feels like early morning or near sunset. Would like for more room top and bottom if it's there to be had. Nice backshot!

Thanks to all for the look and kind comments. The delayed response is due to spotty RV park wifi service. We were delayed in western Wyoming for three days due to closure of parts of I-80 due to high winds and snow. There were no reasonable open alternate routes. Ahh, spring in the high country. I posted the other end of this fellow on the Avian forum on 4-28. He was one of 35-40 males using the lek. On each of the two mornings, I counted only 2-3 females. Hopefully, the majority of females were already on the nest.
