Hi guys, I've been out in the field getting new images to work with. Yay!

Every spring the little warblers come warbling through, brightening up the branches for a while. Painted over the photo in PS using mixer brushes. Added a stylized texture and a canvas texture.

Hi Kerry, Mr. Audubon would be impressed. I like the way you have separated the warbler from the bg. Your brush strokes impart a sense of feather detail. I also like the subtle transitions in color and tone.

There's a lot to like about this. The pose of the warbler appeals to me, and I like that its line is nearly parallel to the branch in the lower left. The warbler's color contrasts nicely with the other colors in the image, and I like the mix of colors in the upper left and lower right. I played around with cropping alternatives but couldn't find anything I liked better. It might be a challenge to do it, but I might see what happens if I try moving the warbler and its perch down and to the right. I do like it this way, however, and think you did a great job with the mixer brushes.

Something very simple and innocent about this. I like the head angle, as if the warbler is looking foward to spring. I like the simple brush strokes too.

Very nice image and application Kerry. Glad you are out smelling the roses, or whatever else you smell in your parts. But nice you thought to take the camera along as that is a nice shot. ; > ) Nice BG effect.

Kerry- good that you got out to do some shooting! In addition to the above comments-this one looks as though it could've been painted from scratch, I don't see any traces that give away it's photographic origin. Interesting!

Looks great, Kerry. And to think, you captured this guy while sitting in your camp chair! :-)

Thanks everyone! Dan, it is amazing to me how many times I go running around all day looking for birds only to find cool shots in my back yard. It was a great trip and a real bonus to have nice subjects hanging around our campsite!

I like the position of the bird, and how it stands out in the frame. I wish the branch the bird is on were more detailed so as to help ground the bird.
