Hi folks thanks for watching and commenting on images i posted in the past……………

This Squirrel lives in our local Botanical Garden and is used to humans , but wild.

In a real nice world the tree stump would not be there…………. but nothing i could have done , because there has been an old Brit lying next to me , in the dirt. And you would not believe it , he used a towel …………….. to not become too dirty , funny these Brits from time to time..
It would have been better to move to the left and even getting a tad lower , but due to limited room at location not possible.

    C&C welcome.

You've covered the tree stump already, but the grasses could maybe disappear as well to improve things, otherwise its a decent shot.

Apart from that I'm having a really tough time not making jokes about the British / German towel debate !!

Stump bit is what it is, is that a teat or a tick just under it's front leg? Colour and detail look spot on. Can't wait to read more on the towels

    Cheers Keith.

Hi Andreas - I agree with your self-critique but she gave you a nice pose and it works well. I keep thinking it needs a slight amount of ccw rotation but it looks like it was on a slight incline.

Thanks folks for your comments , appreciate them very much.
    Keith - i think the "tick" is a nipple for the babv`s , .

Hey you nice british folks , behind the towel story is another nice little story with another British BPN member , hope he will pick this up and reply with good old British humor…………….

    Thanks and cheers Andreas

    Hi Andreas

I like this a lot, the image is sharp with beautiful detail, and while the stump is not ideal it does not bother me too much. You could have just nudged the brit out of the way...!

Hi Andreas, classic pose and I like the 3/4 angle, works well and shows off the subject well. If I'm honest I would prefer a more constant 'neutral' ground without the OOF blades of grass, but nothing you could do, the tree already covered. Interesting to see the hi ISO as the white look quite bright, what was the EV? Love those ear tuffs, we only have them in the winter. Are they conifer seeds this female is eating, hazel nuts are also good fun too.

Thanks Don and Steve for your comments, as always appreciate them.
Steve can you please clarify what you mean by "what was the EV" ? How can i find out what the EV was at the time of shooting ?

    Thank you in advance

Exif data, plus or minus in Exposure compensation, P181 in the instruction booklet/PDF.

    Hello Andreas, hello everyone,

Err... Steve, I agree about the tufts, love them too, here in SA we don't get them in the winter (LOL)

I agree with comments above, this is a wonderful image and the subject is well exposed, so much detail in the fur and I love that shiny, squeaky clean look from the squirrel and those stunning colours! Looks like she is munching on a sunflower seed? How cute, well captured Andreas and great processing, TFS!!!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
