I'm having a bit of trouble glancing at this and thinking you used distort a bit. I know you didn't mention that but the head/neck seem a bit stretched. Guess that's ignorance about owls on my part. Otherwise, the oil paint seems a good choice. Is this a close crop? Seems very close for that size lens. Interesting capture.
