From High Island Rookery last week. The place was so filled with birds and action that it was tough to isolate a single bird or pair without a half-dozen others intruding into the frame. Had to do a bit of tricky pruning on this one. Full-width (added slivver on the left and cropped equivalent amount from the right); cropped from the top to eliminate some of the bg clutter. Wish I had a bit of room at the bottom.

More room at bottom would be nice, yes. but the wingspan is balanced. I think I'd eliminate that shadow across the beak.

Terrific looking pair. I always enjoy seeing the big pink goofballs so I'm lovin' these guys.

Hi Bill, terrific wingspread, and good DOF on both spoonies. More room below wont harm the overall image.

Gorgeous light on this pair, you've got a beautiful image here. Agree with Stuart on adding some at the bottom. I really like the head angles on both birds and the wingspread is great.

Thanks everyone. Alas there was no more room at the bottom of that frame. I went back and attempted to borrow a slivver from a prior frame, but it had an oof egret in the left foreground. I've tried to blend it in. I'm sure a sharp eye will be able to find traces of the splice. With the additional space, I was able to revert to a traditional 3:2 comp.
