For years I've wanted to see one of these guys. I didn't dare dream of seeing one so close and unconcealed. From the car window in Anahuac NWR last Monday. C&C appreciated.

Great to have one out in the open. Great shot, Bill.

Congrats on spotting one of these Bill! I like the vertical comp and the great view of the large feet. The large grayish branch behind the face is not ideal, but you take what you can with species like this one!

Congrats. They are always tough. Nice bird, sharp, well exposed, and a great look at those big feet.

Beautiful bird, nicely shown. A rarity here that is on my bucket list.

Another beauty from Anahuac NWR, Bill. How lucky you were to spot this striking bird from the car. Very nice composition and environment.

Thanks Geoffrey. As usual, the credit goes to Joanne for spotting the bird and positioning the car in the right spot.
