This was taken in Costa Rica earlier this year. Cloned out a branch with leaves behind the head and a tree in front of the Guan. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Really nice portrait of this cool bird Jim.
I like how you got a clean BG and the sharp eye. I would suggest to maintain the 2:3 ratio.

Amazing portrait shot, Jim. Excellent detail, HA and eye contact. I would like to see a little more room on the left side.

Excellent portrait, Jim! I really like the eye contact, HA and feather details! I would leave more room on the left!

Although I see the point of adding canvas back at left I must say I am digging this comp. Very nice portrait with nice diffused light to even out the blacks. Very good BG and the processing looks seamless with the cloning job.

Hi Jim, a species I havent seen before. Excellent exposure, and I like the overall detail. Having looked at your comp in the OP which I thought was fine, I really like your repost comp. Well done.

What a cool looking bird, one that I have never seen also. The detail and exposure look great and I like the comp on the repost best. Nice work Jim. Lots of cool stuff from Costa Rica. TFS
