Did wonder about removing the bits of vegetation but decided to leave it alone.Think my Owls may have returned to last years site even though the farmer decided to demolish the building they nested in ,looks like they may have taken up residence in one of the boxes I provided for them in another building.

Thanks for looking and your comments and tips on my last post.

Hi Keith, great eye contact from the peek a boo pose, and just enough owl visible to make this work. Im fine that the 'wall' is OOF, but would try and smoothen out the finish. That one thicker strand of foliage draws my eye, maybe because its white and stands out against the green BG. If you still want to leave the foliage, I would tone it down a touch.

I like the peeking pose, sharpness, BG, eye clarity and composition. I agree with toning down the strand of grass. Well done Keith.

I'm going to add another vote for doing something with that one strand - after that it'll be a very good, interesting shot

Thanks guys 3 votes for removal, but I will warn you clone brushes and myself don't go very well together. Any other suggestions to tone down/remove would be very much appreciated.

I like the first version better, Keith. The little vegetation at the bottom adds interest IMO.

Nice stare-down pose Keith. I agree with Karl - the original is much better, although I can see what Stu means about the grass being a tad dominant.

Hi Keith, having seen both, yes I do prefer the image without the vegetation, but sometimes it can look a tad 'clinical/sparse'. I would look to applying some NR to the stone, however just watch the stone doesn't become too dominant, I feel it's a hard balance sometimes with something like this. I'm surprised about the noise element on the subject, I wonder if it was slightly underexposed? the RP shows some additional artifacts, naught step Keith

Good luck for the future, hope to see more.

Original post is way better. I like natural looking images and repost looks too clean to my eye. Love the sharpness on the eyes and pose of bird.

Excellent shot! I like the original version too! I would try to clone out only that long strand of grass.

What a fun, playful pose on this owl. I would have to choose a version between the two. I prefer the OP without the one larger strand of grass. The vegetation really helps to balance the image.

What a fun and whimsical pose you have here Keith. The techs look good and I like the BG also. I agree with Marina on leaving the green but removing the long grass. Well done
