    Stumbled into a great deal on a 1D Mark iv, just curious as to which Focus,Custom functions, for BIF. you would suggest..

    IMHO, I would not read or buy any book on how to take BIF. A wast of time. Just set your camera in Manual mode and go out for a few days and experiment. It ain't hard. Just set the AF for center surround point assist.

    Much easier than other kinds of photography. As far as exposure is concerned.
    Problem is in tracking and just good long lens technique. That just takes practice.

    Gary, It must be wonderful to be so ignorant. Again I request that you post some of your alleged "great" flight images in Avian. The few I have seen have been junk. For the rest of the gang I would be reluctant to take advice from Mr. Kinard at least until he posts some of his "great" flight images.
