    Default Grey Heron

One of those bizarre moments in bird photography when you have too much focal length!

Canon 1d3, 400mm f5.6L, 1/6400th f5.6 ISO 800, ISO was a bit high as I'd been shooting another heron in the shade when this one buzzed me.

Hi Mike, Nice exposure with good detail in the wings, I wish you had a better pose one were the head was not partially covered by the wings and were the Heron was flying toward you not away from you.

A bit contrasty due to the harsh light, but well exposed and nice details. Too bad the heron is angling away from you here.

Very sharp and nicely exposed. I do wish the bird was flying towards us though.

Couldn't agree more about the angle of flight - back out we go again!

    Thanks for looking and commenting
