Good shot of the bird on the hunt for lunch- looks like around the middle of the day. Could do with a bit off the rhs and more on the lhs.

Nice image, and I really like the flying feathers. I would like to see this bird less centered. Maybe add some to the left and top or take away from the right. I like the way some of the green grasses are sparkling.

Taking a little off the right would make it a little more dynamic, giving the bird relatively more space to move into. I also like the highlights on the grasses, including those in the center FG -- they're not too overdone, as can sometimes be the case. That lens seems to have good bokeh -- often not the case with a TC added.

I wonder if its possible to lighten the mid-darks a little to bring out the bird just a little more? But a great capture, in any case!

Colin, Marina, and Diane, I have made the changes each of you has requested, however, when I try to repost the revised image using 'Reply to Thread' the software will not let me use 'from computer'.

I will try again later...Terry Johnson

Hello to those who responded, I am not able to copy in my revised image as the copy feature for 'computer' is not working for my revision.

Thanks for you responses, however, I thought they were good suggestions...Terry Johnson

Hi Terry... I LOVE GBH's! Especially when they are "on the hunt". Great capture. Since it is (finally!) Spring... I know the grasses are quite bright... but, WDYT about perhaps dropping back on the yellows (in the grass) ... seem to be overwhelming the Heron somewhat.

No idea what could be wrong -- only suggestion is to see if it works for your next post (in a different thread) and then try the revised image again here.

Terry, try hitting the "Go Advanced" button when replying...you'll have some additional options there.

As for the image, I like it better than I thought I would with the lighting you had, but I still would have preferred the light coming from behind you. Nice walking stride...
