A bit of a lucky situation as I spotted this Hermit Thrush already on this perch so I took my sweet time to approach within striking distance and was able to photograph it for a few seconds before it was off into the bush. Oh, and pishing was used to get it to turn its head as it was busy eyeing something to its left...

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1250s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, about 80% FF, darkened pupil, lightened iris, smoothen some lines in BG via low opacity clone stamp.

Excellent. Lovely light, pose, perch and bg. Nice bird too! I'm guessing by the fluffed out feathers that it was cool weather.

Nice image with a beautiful bird. I like the pose, perch and BG. The color palette works very well.

The sort of image that I really like, super looking puffed up and relaxed bird on a nice clean BG, you could not ask for more.

Thanks, and yes it was cool...the temperature was at about the freezing mark at time of capture.
