Stunning bird, great colours and detail. I've longed to see a Bluethroat but they are rare visitors to the UK. The only negatives I can find are the composition doesn't feel balanced to me and the head angle feels a little awkward with it looking up and back.

That's a pretty bird and well presented. Very smooth background.

Magnificent image. Very nice pose, beautiful colours, details, two tone BG and composition.
Though a common winter visitor in our area very difficult to find him on nice perch and BG.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Everything looks great here ( details, colours, perch, BG) except the head angle which is twisted away a bit too much IMO.

Awesome bird and gorgeous BG. I personally have no issues with the pose as is. This angle really gives the viewer a great view of the neck and head feather colors and details. The only thing for me which could have elevated this image to the next level would be some vegetation in the frame to balance it out. It's just a bit stark.

Hi Frank, good look back pose, which in turn shows off the colours nicely. I do like the two tone BG.

This photo answers the question, "Why is it called a bluethroat?" Sweet colors. Before reading anyone's comments, I had the impression that the bird is a bit out of balance. I'd like him higher up and more to the left. Daniel makes a good point about the head position. I'd rather have the bird looking us straight in the eye. All in all, very fine work on a great species.
