A different pose and perch of the same bird from the other day. Liked the other perch better (I dont think he could have picked a more boring perch than this), but I really liked this pose. Last one of this guy, promise:)

Your self-critique is quite good Dan. Ho-hum perch, but a very good pose. Sharpness is also good. I think I might boost the saturation of the bird a little. I would also remove the light spot at the bottom right of the perch. Thanks for posting!

Totally agree and would also crop a little different. Would take from the bottom to minimize the perch and just a little up top. Love that bg !!!

Gorgeous image! a few spots need to be toned down , and a slight boost in the saturation. but I still think it is a great image! well done!

Hi Dan, agree with a little off the bottom, I would touch the sat I would just darken the mid tones with curves to help with the density.

Pose and sharpness are great, esp on the eye-bill.

Dan, I just spent an afternoon with a blue grosbeak....tough! I think your image is beautiful, detailed, sharp, and of course, a wonderful subject. Perch is fine with me....they like broken weed stems.
