This young Verreaux's Eagle arrived at the vulture restaurant at Giant's Castle, closely shadowed by several White-necked Ravens. It didn't stay long, as the ravens were really harassing him a lot. This species is the size of a Golden Eagle, and probably the most spectacular of the Aquilian eagles (at least in my opinion;)).

Nice image of an awsome subject, really sweet bg. wish the raven had a better head angle. did you get any good white-necked raven shots (I really like them)?
Excelent image Chris. Love the raven looking at the eagle while the raptor is ignoring it. Verreaux´s are very high in my "Aquila" list too, the second position (first position is for Aquila aldalberti) but, in fact I love all the Aquila spp. Magnificent birds. I remember another of your images of this species, a nice adult Verreau´x against a green BG with a terrific pose and light (Verreaux´s eagle is one of the reasons why I want to visit your country).:)
Thanks guys, comments appreciated! Juan, the Spanish Imperial Eagle is also one of my favourite birds. Two years ago I visited the south of Spain and saw several Booted Eagles and Griffons, but no Imperials. Hopefully one day I will see the majestic Imperial Eagle, and even better, photograph it.
Hi Chris the spanish imperial eagle is one of the most endangered birds of prey in the world and is really difficult to photograph due to conservation measures. There are a couple of populations near where I live but they are on very restricted areas. I have been lucky enough as to enjoy the observation of this magnificent bird several times but very far for a decent image :(
