Default Crested Greebes fighting for territory

    Hello,

Today I bring you a picture from this weekend that reflects the reason why I went to a full frame camera - to have more speed in difficult light situations and to be able to get more action shots.

    EXIF:
    • ISO2000 | 700mm | f8 | 1/1600 | uncropped
    • Nikon D4 + 500mm f4 VR + TC 1.4X in my hidrohide

Love the action. I wonder if the composition would work better with a little off the bottom and perhaps a tiny bit more on the top to show some more water spray and the nice background?

Great timing, but I agree it would be nice to lose some off the bottom and the left, and see a bit more at the top to include more spray. It would just help balance the shot a bit more. I'd also be tempted to clone out whatever it is that is sticking out of the water.

I don't have any more space above, the 1st post was an uncropped version, but taking in consideration Ian and Mike comments I arranged it like this:

    Is this better now?

The last version works the best for sure. Love the splash and all the action. It looks as though your focus grabbed onto the splash rather than the birds which is unfortunate.

I think it does look better with the crop (but then again I would!)
