A special bird to see in South Africa. I spent a morning with a pair of them at the top of the Gantouw Pass (Sir Lowry's Pass) last year and had some great light to play with.

Always a thrill to get one of the specialty birds. He gave you a nice pose, and the details are great. Might have wished to see his foot, but that's a nit.

Very special and well captured showing a little of the environment. Great light, nice feather detail, too bad about the foot.
    Cheers, Ian

Hi Richard, you are right about the light - it shows up the detail and colours nicely, overall nice and sharp too. I do like the angled pose, and the placement of the bird in the frame.

Super pose and details. The low angle works very good. The red eye is great.

Thanks so much for the encouragement and comments! Really appreciate it. I also forgot to mention that I applied a slight lens blur to the background, which I think helps create the 3D effect Satish refers too. Thanks Satish!
