Cape Rockjumper (female) - a special South African endemic
A special bird to see in South Africa. I spent a morning with a pair of them at the top of the Gantouw Pass (Sir Lowry's Pass) last year and had some great light to play with.

Always a thrill to get one of the specialty birds. He gave you a nice pose, and the details are great. Might have wished to see his foot, but that's a nit.
Hi Richard, you are right about the light - it shows up the detail and colours nicely, overall nice and sharp too. I do like the angled pose, and the placement of the bird in the frame.
Thanks so much for the encouragement and comments! Really appreciate it. I also forgot to mention that I applied a slight lens blur to the background, which I think helps create the 3D effect Satish refers too. Thanks Satish!
