Great capture, Holger. The thumbnail doesn't do it justice. Love the pose, the colors, the habitat. Great that you got him with the stick -- I just wish it were at a different angle. But a bird I'd love to see, and a frame I'd love to own.
Beautiful pic well captured, Holger! I might have raised the shadows just a tad to get a little more detail of the shaded area below the nearest wing (if you have not done it already), but nothing serious at all! A keeper, for sure!
Hi Holger, love the show of the feet in this, and that the heron has nesting material in his bill. Colours are spot on, and great that you managed to capture him in the open away from the busy reed BG.
