    A tough exposure with the side light that you had, but it looks like you managed well.

    Seems like the IQ is just a bit low, was this a large crop?

    Hi Colin, I love the background and the nice side light. I find preening birds are a fascinating subject but difficult to 'pull off'. I'm not sure why this should be as there is that extra dimension of interest but most of my attempts end up in the trash can. I think you have succeeded with the eye drawn to the luminous yellow light at the tip of the bill.
