    When the Red Red Robin

    Verse (Sing once)
I heard a Robin this morning,
    I'm feeling happy today,
I'm going to put my cares in a whistle,
    Blow them all away.
    What if I've been unlucky,
    Really I ain't got a thing,
    There's a Time I'll always feel happy
    As happy as a King.

    chorus
    Repeat from here(Sing twice)
    When the red, red robin
Comes bob, bob, bobbin along, along,
    Therell be no more sobbin
    When he starts throbbin
    His old sweet song:
Wake up, wake up, You sleepy head
Get up, get up, Get out of bed,
Cheer up, cheer up, The sun is red
Live, love, Laugh and be happy!

    What if Ive been blue,
    Now Im walkin through
    Fields of flowers.
    Rain may glisten,
    But still I listen,
    For hours and hours.
    Im just a kid again,
    Doin what I did again.
    Singin a song,
    When the red, red robin

    Comes bob, bob, bobbin along.
    (back to -> Repeat chorus)

When I lived in Indiana, which was until I was 23 or so, the robins were one of the first signs of spring along with the crocuses blooming. Love this thrush, such a cool bird. Nice processing and colors. I might be tempted to tone down the bright area just in front of the breast and the tiny bit of halo there.

Mitch, I too enjoy Robin images (plan to add some to my collection this year). Agree with Kerry comments re: chest. This one has an interesting pose and seems to fit the space and pattern shown by the leaves. I especially like how the details are concentrated on the subject.

Very interesting bkgd of subdued colors and leaf shapes layered over each other. I like how it encircles the robin like a frame. Could use just a bit more space at the bottom for the virtual feet. Great to see all the words to the familiar song!

    Nancy,

I was not familiar with the lyrics to Red, Red Robin except for the refrain. It turns out to be a charming little song. One of the first popular recordings of it was by Al Jolson in 1926. I found his recording on Youtube, and I have to admit that I quite like it...
