    hi

    Taken about a week ago in southern Texas :)

    They were alle over the place and I was lucky enough to get some nice shots of them.

    Mark IIn + 4/600 IS handheld
    Didn't think I would be able to get razor sharp images with the 600 handheld, but it worked amazingly good

    The wing and head position could be a bit better...LOL, j/k !!! You know how I feel about this sick shot Jan :)

    Outstanding work, Jan! Composition, head angle, and detail are all incredible.

    I'm headed down to south Texas in a couple of days. Hopefully I'll get an opportunity or two to photograph these guys. So you're handholding the 600; that takes more than a little strength! And your results are awesome!

    Beautiful image... detail... colors... wing and head position are outstanding.
    Hard to even begin to imagine hand holding that lens...

    A great image in all respects. Is the first time I see a picture of one of this guys flighing, amazinly sharp and besides looking at you! great job, you must be a strong guy, that 600mm is heavy!

    :eek:. That is so good it's ridiculous!! Great work...best image I've ever seen of any nightjar.
