Sorry I can't help with the ID. He is sharp, nice pose, well exposed. Interesting effect from the dog eared fence perch. The central one works, but the red one on the right is a bit distracting, as red tends to be a 'forward' color.
I might consider a version with the background luminosity lowered just a bit, so it doesn't overpower the bird.
Lovely image terry. I agree with Randy on the red fence post. If mine I think I would crop a liitle more from the bottom and clone out the rest of that post leaving just the one is is sat on. I also wonder if lightening the bird slightly would help.
Hi terry, looks to me the bird was in the shade, but the BG was bright, and that makes it hard. Overall I feel the image a bit dark for the subject and too bright for the BG. so I'm with randy on the suggestion to reduce the brightness of the BG. I'd suggest brighten up the bird just a tad. Loi
If it were mine, I'd do the following to this dark eyed junco:
1) desaturate the red fence
2) crop the triangle in lower left corner
3) do some eye work
4) remove the blue cast in the bird
Maybe something like this
Don, I like what you did with the exception of removing the blue cast. The blue cast was natural and I think made for a more beautiful image. Removing the red in the fence, cropping the triangle in the left corner, and the other suggestions you applied look good. Thanks for taking the time...Terry Johnson
