There is a lot to like with this image, Karl. I like the fact that there is absolutely nothing to distract your eyes from the lovely blue, dark green, white, brown and orange colors of the goldeneye. Very nice BG. Nice "wings up" position, a decent head angle, and very nice light. Well positioned in the frame. Catching the subject slightly earlier might have provided a slightly better head angle, and exposed more of the right wing, but I like the image a lot.
