Default Hunter and the Hunted (Buteo Buteo)

    Hello,

I took this picture last winter, January, the 31.
The winter 2014 was very short in Germany, so they were only a few days, where those birds are comming to my hide.

I hope you like it a little bit.

    Made with Canon 1DMKIV, 100-400L, 1/1600s, f/6.3, Iso800, 400mm, fullframe

    Excellent pose and background.
Well, we had far less opportunities this winter as well, as it was long and cold, the coldest in forty years.
Let's hope next time it'll be good for all of us.

I love the pose and eye contact of the bird on the perch. I like the concept of having a bird flying right at the bird on the perch, but it's a little too large in the frame and a little too OOF for me. I also wish the 2nd bird was intersecting the perch at a lower point. Having said that, I understand that this was a chance encounter and you did the best you could from your hide.
Upcoming Workshops: Bosque del Apache 2019, Ecuador 2020 (details coming soon)
