We have had a dreadful few months of weather so this is one from two years ago. A slight crop from the bottom to remove the edge of a stone track and a slight crop of the right hand side to make the bird less central. Very slight levels adjustment.

    Canon 7D and Canon 300mm 2.8.

Thank you for looking and for your comments on my last post.

Great pose, good exposure with detail in most of the blacks, nice low POV. Large signature slightly distracting to me.

Fantastic image. BG, FG and comp go hand in hand here. Agree on the signature.

That's a good one Andrew! One of the best Grouse pics I,ve seen yet. I did them years ago but made a complete pils of it.
    Well done

Nice pose here, very dynamic. I love the BG and FG, nice warm colours. There is one horizontal blade in the FG (below the far wing) that is bolder than the others that I would tame...but all else is top notch!!

Thanks Daniel, I see that now and you are quite right, amazing how many times I can look at a photo and miss things! Point taken as well about the signature and will remove it from any subsequent posts. Apologies for that.

Like the 'aggressive' stance with this one Andrew and the early morning light. Just watch the sharpening halo running down the back and on the dark rear feathers RHS. On the eyebrows you may find backing off the red/yellow/saturation you start to see more definition, looks a bit 'clogged'.

Just make the © wording smaller and knock it back via Opacity to suit.

Andy looks like you had a bit of sun up there,f3.5 worked for you, agree with Bill about the blacks they look really good, it's a good forum with some very good advice from people who know a thing or two.

    Andew,
Wonderful action you have captured here. Excellent pose with very nice expression. I like the lights and shadows on wings, nice details and BG.
