I have just re-edited a kingfisher picture to bring out more of the blue.
Would appreciate any re-posts or suggestions.

    Very nice capture Ian.
I like the action here, The background has noise, and the area around the bird's eye is too dark...

Cool a KF in flight and in pretty good focus! Good going Ian. Agree on the noise can be seen in the wings as well, possibly 'over blued' (too saturated?)

Hi Ian How much of a crop is this guy?

From what I can see the light was a bit harsh, seems to be lots of contrast. Love wing position and bg. Difficult capture. There is not much detail in the head possible from crop. Did not list the tech info so its difficult to speculate further !!!

    Thanks Gus and Nonda.
    Point taken about the noise.
Nonda I see you're right about excess blue so will have to work on it somemore.

Thanks Alfred looks like our posts crossed.
This picture was taken on an early mid-summer morning in 2007 when the bird was taken from a 90 degree angle as it flew off from about 20 feet away towards the sun.
Unfortunately at that time I did not keep originals but the size of the bird in the original picture was probably at least 1/2 that of this post.
    Pentax K10D with Sigma 400 lens @ F5.6 possibly around 1/1000 second.
    Here is my original edit.
