    A very cooperative Mourning Dove let me approach to this FF composition, and after taking a few portraits it started cooing to another not too far away. It gave some awesome views of the inflated neck when it does so. Pretty cool that their bill remains tightly shut while doing this "call"!

    Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/200s., f/9, ISO 800, FF, natural light, handheld, darkened the left side of the frame via burn tool. I may create a version with a tad more canvas at left...

    Another great portrait!

    Really like the bird lesson here, I had no idea they kept their bills closed for that call. I'll have to check that out myself!
