Photoshop CC Adjustments Stopped Working

Out of the blue, all of a sudden I can't adjust levels, curves and exposure.

I was working on image 1, no problems there.

I start working on image 2. I get to the point where I want to darken
my background. I go do an level adjustment. I can move the sliders
with no problem, but no changes are showing up on the image itself.

I have no idea what I did. Any suggestions?

I thought maybe it was a memory problem, so I rebooted. No luck.
