great perch, great exposure and great looking bird!!! the oof white areas around the bottom of the bird are a little distracting though. you could easily tone those down and make this really awesome. it looks a little big in the frame to me, too. could just be personal taste!! well done, gus!!!

    Hey Gus,
Great capture and composition, I like the colors and details on your bird. The background is good for me...:)

Nice job Gus! The perch is just right for the bird. Great eye contact and sharpness. The bird is definitely tight in the frame and would benefit from more room at the top or perhaps a vertical crop. Keep up the good work!

Hi Folks, Thank you very much for looking at my photo, and coming up with good suggestions to improve it. White spots are white adobe houses across the street, and make it difficult most of the time. Restarted from scratch and tried to incorporate your tips. Portrait crop a definite improvement. . . . Gus

I like the repost a lot Gus !!!! btw if you set them up the bg should be just about ideal since you are controlling it !!! ..... and that perch .... will happily support a large hawk !!!! :D:):):)

Lighting wise you had the light from your right. The tail side of the bird looks a bit dark. Might try some fill flash ....or get your sun angle !!!!
