I've wanted to photograph the Harlequin for quite some time. Talking to Bill, who recently posted the masterful series of Harlequins, he felt they may have left Barnegat, but worth another trip. When we got there, not only did we see no less than 15 Harlequin, but a whole host of shore birds some of which included Oyster Catchers, Ruddy Turnstones, and Purple Sandpipers. It was a field day to say the least. All C&C welcome.
Oh wow this is beautifull!! From the thumb I was going to suggest going lower but upon clicking on it I'm glad you did not as the colour and texture of the moss on the rock is superb. Perfect head angle, nice details. If there is one thing I could suggest it would be to blend in the darker streaks in front of the face as they compete a tad with it. All else is excellent.
Terrific shot of this beauty. Head angle, pose, position in the frame, detail all wonderful. I can see Daniel's point about the streaks, but no biggie. And maybe just a touch of desaturation in the green channel -- I don't recall the moss looking quite than emerald. Otherwise don't touch a thing.
Super nice shot Geoffrey with the head turned as if the harley is saying: "look at how handsome I am." IQ and colors look really nice too and I love how bright the eye is.
