    MapLichen- on a rock in North Wales.
    Standard 18-50 Sigma wide angle on the D7000.
    Just a holiday snap really. Had to compress down by 30% to get the size down for posting. So much fine detail I suppose. Wish I,d spent more time on it.
    Lost the exif.
    You can see why its called Map Lichen !!#

    Very different to anything i have seen on this section. Like the greenish blue hue and the atlas type feel

    I think this is a great abstract! I really like that black lines create random shapes and sizes that fit together like intricate puzzle-like pieces. Gives the viewer lots to look at. The blue-greens are very attractive.

    Hi John. I've seen and photographed a lot of lichens - but nothing quite like this. I like the mix of blue-greens and yellows and the black edges really help to outline the lichens. I can see where this one would lose some IQ when compressing down to meet the file size requirements for the forum - I expect this is pretty impressive when blown up at full resolution!
