As far as Snowy Owl images are concerned certainly nothing dramatic with this one. Still, I was happy to capture this Snowy on the dunes in early morning light at Barnegat Light, NJ.

    Hi Rob,
I really like this. It portrays how a snowy really is most of the time.
I like the included environment and although it should feel busy, it doesn't.
    Great light and POV.
I think the comp is unusual but works. With the eyes looking to our right I might have been tempted to put the bird on the LHS of the frame. However, this works as well.
The hint of blood on the feet is pretty cool as well.
I would tame the whites on the throat by selecting that area, then feather it by 3 or 4 pixels and do a linear burn (in the layer style tab) of ~~ 30% or to taste.
A shot to be proud of,
    Gail

really nice Rob,as Gail said, the image should look busy but it dont, the reason for this is the owl is blending in with the colours because of its camouflage. Nice natural looking image, well done

There a lot to like with this image. Love the environment. Your shooting up on the owl gives us a different perspective, and I rather like it. Glad I can see its talons which blend right in with the vegetation. I personally like the composition as is and the fact that I can see enough of both eyes to make it work.
