    I am having trouble files were to big and I think I solved that but now is trying to default to a giff file

    That's the exporting step. Then the next step is uploading to BPN.

    What software? PS's Save for Web has a dropdown for several formats. Choose JPEG (from a dropdown list) and it should be a sticky setting. But that is one of those mileage could vary things.

    You should make the file fit into the 1200 x 900 pixel size limit here and then reduce the JPEG quality to get it under 400 KB.
