    Taken early morning, in Arkansas.

Adjusted the original image with curves, differently for the fog and the old dock. Then I used 2 layers of fractalius; one on the foggy water and one on the old dock, with different blends and opacities.

Bird ID: 1 Great Blue Heron, 2 Black Vultures.

A very creative and OOTB image, the effects really accentuate the fog rising from the water and yet still shows a bit of detail in the old dock shadows....well done

Pretty cool Nancy, and definitely something different! I like the golden hues and the stark presence of the old dock pilings. Thanks for the bird IDs, I might have gotten it wrong. I love that one, lone little bit of shrubbery sitting on top of the posts.

Nancy, when I saw the thumbnail I thought Oh Cool, a silhouette-then I opened it-Wow, this really is a dramatic rendering! I like the tones, and how the fractalius rendered the wood. It also adds a bit to the water though the top edge takes on the look of tree bark. Is that a red reflector on the lower post? That, and taking a thin sliver off the top might be the only things I'd alter-Nicely done!

A strong image, with impact. Beautiful glow and effects. Excellent silhouette. I like the feel of this image, early morning, or, more likely, sunset. Peaceful because of the birds and pilings, stirring because of the glow and warm colors. It does not feel like fog. Cropping some off the bottom to get rid of the ground to the left of the pilings, cropping out the growth out of the piling, and taking a chunk off the top would make it more graphic, but not necessarily better.

The colours and silhouettes of the birds are fabulous Nancy and I like the bit of shubbery on both sides of the post. I agree with Randall about just a sliver off the top, it seems more balanced to me.

Great idea, Nancy! I love the silhouettes and the golden glow. Great use of fractalius also. I like Randall's crop.

Thanks everyone! I also like the tweaks Randall made. Thanks! Next time I visit my sister (this is a view from her house) I'm going to check and see if that bit of brightness is a reflector on the timber.
