I like the terns, and this image has a nice painterly quality to it. The background is great. My only suggestion would be to lighten the highlights in the eye a bit. It is always a challenge to show the eye of a tern...

Bkgd colors and textures are fabulous and provide a very interesting bkgd for the more plain white/gray tern. And yet the tern is large enough & has plenty of detail to be the main focal point. I agree with Kerry about the eye. The saturation of the colors make the scene ominous. Very good placement of the tern within the clouds of colors, having the darkest ones acting as a frame.

I am a sucker for bird images, as in your first tern image from before....this is a lovely capture, I can almost see this bird hovering and then banking for a dive....nice details and processing, good advice given above...well done

Very nice. I like how the Tern crosses the light and dark areas of the bg, bringing them together. Lovely positioning of the bird. Great bg! I hadn't thought to use Simplify on textures. I usually use Gaussian Blur, but I want to try Simplify now that you have suggested it. Agree about making the eye stand out more from the dark head. Beautiful feel to this image.

Beautiful shot of the tern and the BG is fabulous. I like the way the dark parts frame the bird.

Randall, the textures were perfectly chosen for this image. I'll have to try Simplify to smooth out textures - thanks for the tip
