(when I get my 5D Mkiii, next week, I wont have to bother about those ISO settings on a dull day)
Went up to Dunkeld, Scotland yesterday to have a look at the male osprey which flew in from Africa on Tuesday. Seen the osprey but it was a dull rainy day, and he never came close enough to photograph. But, I captured this little guy on a nearby tree.

Nice bird and sharp with a good exposure. Background branches are somewhat distracting, especially the one through the head. But the biggest problem is that the bird's head is turned away.

William the head turn is ok for me, agree about the oof branch through it's head, it's a smashing little sharp bird especially with the conditions you describe.
