Must be amazing to get so close, can never understand how anyone could kill such magnificent creatures, that tear drop says it all.
Hi Dan, nice concept and what an amazing animal, great to think they are comfortable to come so close and personal to the boats. I like the way you have conveyed the shallow water lapping over the eye/head and the subtle rays of light coming through. Nice detail overall. If it was mine I might suggest just darkening the top LH & RH corners a fraction to bring more focus to the eye.

Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.
Very nice and unusual perspective here Dan, the bubbles and water around the eye line add a lot here.
Hi Dan - Sounds like an amazing experience. I too like the comp and the water lapping over the head. Nicely done.

Interesting shapes and such a close picture!
Hi Dan,
it must be exciting to be that close to these amazing mammals , one day………
Good job in PP here for the overall tonality and colors. To me the eye is a bit too centered , i think if you have placing the eye in ULC and get more of the mouth as a diagonal line ending in the LRC could look interesting ? By not knowing if you have it !

Hi Dan, lucky to be soo close...! Not allowed in Australia, I think the boats have to back off... Nice sharp image, although like Andreas I think the eye is a bit too close to the center. I was going to suggest to crop the top and RHS slightly to move the eye to upper Right third and maybe include more of the bubble and splash action around the mouth, assuming this exists..

Nice concept and execution, Dan. I too am flabbergasted at how we are screwing up our planet in so many respects, particularly the wildlife and marine life...
I wonder if you have a shot where the whale head/face lies more diagonally from bottom right to top left? I'd have liked the line of the mouth to lead our eyes to the whale eye on one of the ROT power points?
EDIT: only NOW read that Andreas made the same recommendation about the diagonal line of the mouth!
