    Default Torrent Duck (Ecuador)

In my recent trip to wonderful Ecuador I found this juvi Torrent Duck fishing in the Papallacta River. It was a real joy to watch him swimming in the cold and rapid waters. Light was boring but heck! It was a lifer for me so I didn't care much about the light and just tried to get an image of this cool specie!

    For this one I used

1D4+600f/4 (I)+1.4TC+f/8+ISO800+almost FF.+Tripod+processed in LR+NR on BG and sharpened and resized in PS.

    Many thanks for looking!

    What a great find!
This is a very pretty duck and I think you have done him justice.
I like the rock with the film of water and the perky tail.
The rapids in the water add to the image- I just wish the head was not intersected by the white/green area.
Not a deal breaker and an easy fix if your ethics allow you,
    Gail

Wonderful image, Only thing I'd like to see is a bit more sharpening but thats subjective I guess

Just fantastic. Love the wet slippery rock and the cute duck's pose. Looks to me light a couple points more of brightness would not hurt.

Killer image Juan. What a superb species that I've only seen in documentaries. Don't recall seeing one posted here. Love the overall setting and your techs. TFS!

Great little duck shot. No wonder he can swim well with feet like that !
Like Grace I love the wet rock.

Excellent shot of this duck. I've seen them a couple of times in Colombia but never got off a good shot. His name is certainly apt.
