    Default Time for bed

Just messing around with young Jamie D the other weekend seeing what we could find and so I took a couple of pops at the Sandhill cranes. Personally a little tight frame wise, but wasn't expecting this one to yawn.

    Cheers

Nice pose. You handled the side-lighting well. I might trim a bit of canvas off the right and tone down the bright patch at the top of the bird's neck.

Love the comp and the PP is flawless, esp those little wispy feathers on the crown which show up so well in this light.

Fingers to quick, thanks folks for the replies, much appreciated good or bad please always feel free.

Doug, on reflection I need to (address) pull back the highlights as it's given a fine outline certainly on the chest and crown. With hindsight, moving the whole crop to the right would have been better, however as I said, I had not predicted it was going to yawn, but like all 'Boy Scouts', be prepared.

    Hi Steve, good night crane.
Beautiful colors , very fine tonal transitions , very fine detail and i like the comp with the open beak.
The chest looks a bit too light for me , would tone that down a fraction , as always my view .
But what buggers me a bit is the akward looking eye , not meaning this half closed one , not ideal i think.Meaning the sharpening ? looking a bit odd, compared to the other fine sharpness elsewhere in the frame. This area is looking quite rough ???? /gritty ? How come ?

Hi Steve, in this crop it looks good ? Downsampling the reason for odd looking ?

Yep, compression on small areas I assume, however Arash is perhaps your best man to ask.
