    Default Orange and Blue!

Thought I'd save this image for the big game (Florida Gators play tonight in the NCAA tournament ... one win shy of 4 straight Elite Eight appearances).

This one was taken in So. Cal on my recent trip in the evening light. Didn't get much action from this guy, but he did give me a nice opportunity at a full frame shot. I can't complain about the colors either.

    Shooting info:

Beautiful breeding plumage and excellent light. Love the low shooting angle and the shades of orange in the water. Beautiful image Miguel.

Miguel, Lovely colors indeed. If I had to dig deep for one small criticism, it would be that there was a little separation between the legs. I think that just adds a bit more interest and a sense of stability. NOT a big deal by any means.

Miguel this is such a specie! lovely bird in all counts, tack sharp, well exposed and with an excellent BG. I wish I will see this specie some day as they are so handsome.

I like how the feather detail in your avocet is very clear. Since their feathers are so fine, the feather detail can be hard to get well defined. Nice work!

Even though he is still filling in his colorful neck feathers, he still looks great. Nice pose and HA and that baby blue water color really sets him right. Well done Miguel.

Love the slight ruffling of the feathers and the great color.
