I hope I am not overdosing you with my merganser shots.
This male common merganser struggled to swallow this flounder while in the water so took it up on the ice. He tried for several minutes to get it down but failed. He left the flounder on the ice and within 2 minutes an eagle swooped down and took it. ( I was too close to get that shot)

I like the sharpness, details, exposure, composition, catch and open beak. Excellent image Gail.

Nice feeding behaviour, and I like the curved fish pointing towards the subject. Well exposed, nicely detailed, and composed tastefully. Keep them coming!

Awesome pose, sweet light, nice shooting angle and IQ. Nowhere near overdosed, Gail. Keep them coming.

Fantastic! Great action and love the curve of the fish. Were you in the water?

Beautifully exposed and excellent detail I love the behavioural shot. I think the exposure is almost certainly ideal but I would see if I could tease a little more detail out of the whites on the fore wing WDYT?

Beautiful Gail, it seems Flounder is their diet right now. Great exposure and color in the bird and fish.

Such a unique image of this species. Excellent technical work...exposure, low angle, sharpness...I really dig these flounder/merganser images.

Another cool image of these guys feeding on flounder. What lucky ducks to have access to such filling meals. The techs look great and I like the open bill and the position of the frosty fish. Well done Gail

This is such an interesting and well captured shot Gail. It must have been very satisfying taking this series.
