    I was waiting on my rocky seat at the lower end of the harbour, waiting to photograph eiders as they passed by, when this little guy appeared. I was very surprised, as it is about time he was on his way to Russia from Scotland for nesting

    I really like the head on view and the coy pose he is giving you.The tail peeking above the head is sweet.
    I also like the ripples that are so close together in front of the drake.
    The whites are hot and I would see if you can salvage them. Tricky sidelighting here was not your friend.

    Seems like Gail has read my mind as her critique is pretty much what I wanted to write. Higher vantage point than I normally prefer but it works here because of the tail and texture of the water.
