Beautiful clear shot Karl! Colors sure pop in the snow and love the layers of wing feathers.

You had such a wonderful opportunity here and you seized the moment. I love seeing the kestrel on the snow and it is nice to see your beautiful image and contrast it with David Salem's taken in dry SoCal.
Like the wings up position and the exposure. I like the shadow on the ground as well.

Excellent image Karl! I like the raised wings, HA, setting, shadow and composition. I have yet to get an image of a Kestrel.

Excellent image, Karl. You couldn't have timed this any better. Light is superb. I love seeing the talons and all that dug up snow (which adds a ton to this image imo). Superb!

Great looking shot Karl. Love the wing spread and the eye contact. Cool to see these guys in the snow as I only see them in the desert terrain.
