    Default Harlequin

On the spur of the moment last Friday afternoon I finally made the drive down to Barnegat, my first visit of the season. The Harlequins were in their usual spot and were most cooperative, occasionally coming up onto a rock to pose.

Nice pose, detail and exposure Bill. Like the stretched wing as well. I've been going down every weekend now because the harlequins and sea ducks are typically gone by mid April. Lots of migrating duck activity lately. If you ever want to hook up, let me know. I'll drive or can meet you there.

This has so many nice aspects. I like the IQ and the whites look great.
I really like the water on the rocks and the kelp. It is nice to see a low POV from this location.
This is a nemesis duck for me- I may have to take a trip to Barnegat some day,
    Gail

Good pose, and I like the surf in the background. If you have a little bit more room at the bottom, I think it would balance the frame a little better.

I like the pose, exposure, perch, composition and water beads on the belly. Excellent image Bill.

Wow, Bill this one really posed for you!
Love the light you capture here, it really brings all those fine details to life! Excellent head turn and I would give more room on bottom if this one was mine.

A really nice pose and setting, Bill. Good exposure and detail retention here too.
I like the surf BG too!

Hi Bill - Not an easy location to get a low pov so well done. Nice detail, light and colors too. It all works for me.

Thanks Rob. I don't know if I'll make it down there again this season, but if I do I'll let you know.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments. Gail, if you're planning to come this year, better hurry up. They may not be around too much longer.

Like everything about this image, Bill. Good last minute decision to make the trip. What a head from this beautiful bird.
