A coot in late day light. I know the contrast is a bit harsh, but they are very black birds and the light was strong. I waited quite a bit until I could get a head turn with catchlight. My first Coot.

Hi, this colors are quite normal for a coot. But I do not like that it is swimming away. Next time just wait a bit longer maybe it comes back?

    Cheers

Like I said to get catchlight and to see his red eyes, I had to wait till his head turned away. I do have a profile shot, but even then the head is a bit turned so that his eyes do get the nice light.

good low shooting angle, Alex is right, the main issue is the bird angled away from us. Some blacks have lost detail.
