Such a pretty bird. The red eye really draws my eye into the picture.
    The light was really nice.
I really like the single water drop on the top of the back.
I wish for a bit more head turn and a lower POV.

This is a wonderful looking water bird and you did an excellent job with the presentation, Holger. Love the ear tuft, hairdo as well as the colors.

Great looking grebe, nice light, good details. The many water drops on the back and side add some fun interest. A lower angle and better head angle would have been just the ticket here. I also feel the eye could be worked on a tad, at least for web posting as the pupil is lost in the catchlight and the reds in the iris look quite solid and possibly clipped.

Lower angle. I know, Daniel. But it is not possible. I captured this birds in a nature reserve. Leaving the road is forbidden and the lake is 1.5 meter deeper as the road. And our ranger is strict in this point.
In the eye i have not changed anything.

Hi Holger, a Grebe species I havent seen before, and a pretty one too. I like the plumage coming out from behind the eye, and the droplets add interest. Im sure if you had a lower shooting angle you would have been there.
