A slightly different Bald Eagle perspective. Reminds me of a photographer checking the camera monitor after getting a shot. Five photographers were standing at our favorite spot on the local lake just before sunset, when one of the resident eagles surprised us with a close approach. C&C appreciated.

Heavens Bill! What a wonderful moment you captured here. Great light on the head and love the determined look while its clamping down its talons. Wing detail and water droplets all add visual interest to this remarkably unique capture.

What a cool perspective on this one Bill. Worth the wait for the last minute shot. Looks like critical focus is on the near wing though as the head looks a bit soft. I think some selective sharpening will help this unique capture. Well done.

I'll say different perspective and extraordinary capture, Bill. I was one of the five photographers standing about 15 feet east of Bill. It was interesting to see the split second differences in our images. As if we had a camera capable of 20, or more frames per second.

Spectacular action with very lights and shadows. Very nice looking prey with trail of water and geat composition.
Love the frame , Bill Sir.

David and Christopher, I think you're quite right. The focus point was on the wing rather than the head. Here's a repost with a little selective sharpening, plus a hint of Topaz Detail on the head.

Thanks Geoffrey. Now that I think about it, maybe the eagle wasn't looking back at his fish, but rather at the burst of machine gun fire he heard from all of us.

Thank you Carolyn. The eagle appeared so suddenly that of the five of us, I think you may have been the only one who captured the actual moment he grabbed the fish. The benefit of a hand-held 300 perhaps, but especially of your quick reflexes.

Hi Bill, great capture here, and love the detail on the near wing. Your repost has gone up a few notches.
