I have a number of similar images, usually one bird is sharp and the head of the other not quite so sharp, I think this is about the best I managed in terms of focus and getting the both heads illuminated. All comments welcome - especially composition (the image is cropped)

    Hi Jon,
Well done on capturing both coots heading towards you and they both look nicely exposed. Composition wise I think I would move the birds lower by cropping from the bottom with maybe more at the top.

Terrific action you captured here. Agree on cropping a tad from the bottom which would put more emphasis on your subjects and this terrific behavior/action.

Nice action shot! Not easy getting both in a pleasing position such as this. Agree with above, do you have more room to the left? If so I'd also slide the pair a little bit to the center, and take out some of the splash on the right- giving them room to run.

Hi Jon, well exposed on both coots, and both look pretty sharp to me, especially when they are up to their usual antics. Im glad you left the trailing water, and a coot image is the only image where the subjects are well placed on the other half of the frame. Another vote for taking some off the bottom.

Jonathan don't think I can add anything re composition, you really have caught the action, and two sharp birds to boot.

I like the action you captured here. I would go with a pano crop taking some off the bottom and adding on the left. Well done Jonathan.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. As it is I have added canvas to the left already and filled with Content Aware (note how straight the waves have become on the LHS) the more I extended the canvas the more (I thought) it would become that I had extended the canvas. I agree a little more off the bottom would help. Thanks again I really do appreciate your suggestions.

Excellent image of very nice moment you have captured. I like the poses, head turns, wing positions and flash of water. I will keep the composition as it is.

    Regards,
    Satish.
